Just wondered if anyone had taken the time to look at Google UK traffic stats since they re-introduced Adwords for licenced operators? Be interesting to see if there has been any downward turn to the sites that have good keyword rankings.

I have definitely seen a drop in traffic- but then this is not suprising. If you were on the first page, your listing has been shunted down 2 listings to make way for those lovely ads. Plus there will be clicks leaking out to the ads on the side. What is really annoying, is that they are not making it easy for affiliates to advertise on Adwords as youŽll need a UK gambling licence......

That's about to change. Google contacted me today to say they are opening it up to UK affiliates soon - in the next week or two, no licence needed but with fairly strict editorial approval :thankyou:

Yay! I have my adwords account all set up and waiting for approval :D They've made some improvements since I last used adwords I must say. I'll write it all up at some stage. The sign up process itself was quite interesting. The very friendly Google Adwords chap I was chatting to on the phone last week is coming to ICE in January and maybe CAP too as it happens.

Do you have the reps name? A friendly Adwords rep is a rare beast!

Peter ;)
I'll send him your email Gideon and try to introduce you at ICE. Actually, pm Sarafina - she may be able to get you in fast-track with IA if you have a UK address.
