That doesn't mean they shouldn't send me something for my past efforts... in fact they should be sending me things because they want me to start promoting again.

Maybe there's a message there ;)
Oh yeah and apparently I received a small hamper from Market Ace - delivered to OGGS!

Actually, it's a valid point. Let me give you an example which is not too far different.
In the past, a casino in Vegas (to be truthful, many casinos) constantly sent me offers such as free entry into slots tournaments, free room and board, free helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon, etc... even though I hadn't visited in more than a year. The reason? I was one of their "high rollers" - meaning I was in one of their preferred tiers. These offers were not relevant to how much I lost, or how much I won - but on how much they thought they could make from me on a 3-day trip, for example.
Now let's bring that back to the affiliate sphere. In the past, when I was still running Got2Bet, I delivered quite a reasonable stream of players to a number of casinos. Granted, I got my piece back in commissions - but the casinos didn't do so badly either, after all.
So the concept is - they should be able to determine an average worth from the players I sent them (let's say $1K per player per year, maybe 20-30 players). If they made $20-30K per year from my players (giving me my 25% cut, that would leave 15-22.5K) - there's a reasonable chance that they could start earning similar figures from me if they could get me to start promoting them again.
Does it not make sense, then, that they should consider investing a couple of hundred bucks to try and get me to start promoting again? I know if I were on the other side of the coin, I would gladly invest that money without hesitation.
Mind you, I don't expect anything at all from some of the great affiliate managers and owners who take me out to meals, invite me to parties, etc. even though I haven't been actively marketing for a couple of years - I think you can guess who will get first dibs when I get going again...

But having left the industry for a few years, maybe they were assuming that you were out of it now - in an "affiliate" sense.

I should mention that the year I left the affiliate side of things (2005) - my response would've been exactly the same - F-A.
Actually, I lie, sort of. I got a nice gift basket from Trident, but that's because Micki is a nice person :) It certainly had nothing to do with wanting me to promote her properties because she knows I would've done so anyhow.

I spoke to her via email about 6-8 weeks ago and she was fine, but not involved anymore. Thought she might come to London but I believe has since decided not to.
