View Full Version : VPL Shifting US Players To Other Casinos

Hmmm,

VPL have started sending out no-deposit coupons to their US player database offering them $15 free if they open up an account at one of their other casinos!

Anyone know any more about this? I am assuming because they also have the telephone numbers for France and Germany they are doing this for all the "banned" countries, although France is widely expected to regulate soon. What happens to the aff tags when casinos do this sort of thing?

PS. Thanks should go to player RobWin (http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/online-casinos/28629-vpl-group-casinos-wtf.html) for bringing this up.

Nice another big aff company cross marketing and stealing players. Red Flush sent out cd's to banned states and had an account all ready and opened for the player last week.

It's a bit hard to say - you may want to check their T&Cs for any mention of cross-marketing.

Other programs have done this in the past - Grand Prive and Casino Rewards come to mind. Wouldn't be surprised if Referback and Fortune have done it as well.

If it turns out that they will map the players, everyone's happy.

If it turns out that they won't map - well, who's to say that the player won't just take the bonus, play it out, and then go back to the casino they originally signed up through the affiliate with?

There's nothing in the offer that says that they must close their existing account first, after all.

To be fair, we don't know if they are carrying the tags over yet. It sounds to me like both Red Flush and VPL are using their existing database, so hopefully tags get kept. If so, then that can only be good for affiliates because efforts are being made to retain players. If not, then it's clearly bad.

Well no harm in finding out :)

I dropped an email to Conrad and Martyn just to see if they can investigate for us.

Cheers,

Had responses from both Conrad and Martyn as follows:

As far as I have confirmed with the guys that do the cross mailing, the tags for affiliates are carried across to ensure that all earnings are allocated to the referring affiliate. We do want to ensure that we live up to our end of the arrangement in terms of lifetime earnings.

the original accounts were kept so any affiliate tags remain in place, which obviously means the affiliates with tagged US players who are still able to play continue to earn

As I was saying... :D

Assuming this is indeed the case, you should be begging them to do even more mailings!

Nice but in the case of Red Flush they sent a cd in the mail and it was to a person that lives in a banned state and as we all know this is a new casino so this is not a case of carrying over a tag. They went as far as opening a casino account for this person so the MG block did not stop them from playing. I just feel like if this is going to happen then why not let us affiliates that have a close relationship with players suggest few decent depositing players to them private and they tag them to us? Just a thought.

Am I being thick here (again) or what?

I thought NO MG casinos could accept any NEW registrations from USA players at all...

Are you (all) saying that this is not the case and that Americans CAN open new accounts???

KK -

I think the point being made here is that these are existing players in their systems - and thus accounts were created for them at other casinos so as not to be a "new registration" per se.

Thus, if you weren't invited, you wouldn't be able to sign up - if you were invited, you existed in their database in the past, and an account has been pre-registered and waiting for you to activate.

As for Red Flush - obviously they are a standalone but perhaps they bought a list somewhere. You're right about sending to banned states though - seems kind of silly.

They for sure bought a list(Red Flush) and I have 2 of my staff members in banned states that are now able to play there via the snail mail cd they got.
